Dandenong Baseball Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for every child and young person who participates in our Club.
The safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a shared responsibility. We expect players, parents, guardians, coaches, officials, volunteers, committee members and supporters to contribute to a culture where children feel safe, respected, heard and supported.
This page brings together child safety information, safeguarding resources, codes of conduct and reporting pathways relevant to our Club and the wider baseball community.
Every Child and Young Person Has the Right to Feel Safe
At Dandenong Baseball Club, the safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a priority.
We want every junior player to be able to participate in baseball in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment. Children and young people should be treated with respect, listened to and supported to speak up if something does not feel right.
No adult should behave in a way that makes a child or young person feel unsafe, threatened, intimidated or afraid.
If a child or young person is in immediate danger, contact emergency services on 000. If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child, raise it with a trusted adult, a Club committee member, or through the appropriate Baseball Victoria reporting process.
Creating a Safe, Inclusive and Respectful Club
Dandenong Baseball Club supports a child-safe culture in which the wellbeing and best interests of children and young people are considered in the way we conduct our activities.
Our Club expects appropriate behaviour from everyone involved in baseball, including coaches, officials, volunteers, parents, guardians and spectators. Child safety concerns must be taken seriously and handled through the appropriate reporting and safeguarding processes.
As the Club reviews and develops its own child safety documents, approved Club-specific policies and codes will be published on this page.

Dandenong Baseball Club is currently reviewing and consolidating its Club-specific child safety policies and codes of conduct.
Until those documents are published here, members should refer to the current child safeguarding, child safe standards, integrity and conduct resources provided by Baseball Victoria and Baseball Australia.
Victorian Child Safety & Safeguarding Requirements
Baseball Victoria provides child safeguarding policies, Child Safe Standards and reporting resources for Victorian baseball clubs, participants and volunteers.
Dandenong Baseball Club encourages all members, parents, coaches, officials and volunteers involved with junior baseball to familiarise themselves with these requirements and resources.
National Safeguarding Framework
Baseball Australia provides national safeguarding policies and resources designed to protect children and young people participating in baseball.
The national safeguarding framework outlines expected standards of behaviour, prohibited conduct, reporting responsibilities and child-safe practices across the sport.
Speak Up if Something Does Not Feel Right
Concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child or young person should always be taken seriously.
If there is an immediate threat to a child or another person, contact emergency services on 000.
For other child safety, safeguarding or integrity concerns connected with baseball, concerns may be raised with the Club or through the relevant Baseball Victoria reporting process.
Do not delay raising a concern because you are unsure whether it is serious enough. The appropriate safeguarding or integrity process can determine the next steps.
